Dr. Melanie Weiss

Dr. Melanie (Borns) Weiss was born and raised in Watertown, SD. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1990 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Biology from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 1998. She opened Weiss Eyecare Clinic in July 2003. Dr. Weiss specializes in routine eye care, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, foreign body removals, glaucoma management, and dry eye treatments. She is married to her husband Paul and has three daughters: Becca, and twins Abby and Allie. Outside of work, Dr. Weiss is giving a “Vision of Hope” to students and the public as she is out educating others on opiate addiction and recovery by telling her personal story.

Dr. Weiss likes to take time with her patients to explain the results of their eye exams, describe their options, and listen to their eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.
